Development story:
It started with a 'simple' noise function as my second project in pico8 for the pico-1k challenge. It was a nice challenge for myself since I had only worked with pico8 for the first and last time during that last jam. Then on my not so continuous game journey in other engines. (mainly Godot) I found myself back for another go.
With an idea of a open world type game involving robots, I thought of a terraforming game, with that I spent a few hours testing the idea. With that, a second jam turned into a third, an open world map which then required supporting functions for cameras, map edits, smoothing player movement, etc...
I spent some time a little bit here and there, trying for big pushes, hoping I had something playable for cre8-jam, the 'thing' you found here.
Pico8 had some learning curves. There so many people out there that share there creations. One regret I have is not really looking in to them, as I kept my head down chipping away any bugs I came across. I'm sure there are WAY better ways to solve some of the hurdles, but from the few I did find and was able to gain valuable knowledge from, you have my many thanks.
Pico8 is a great tool to gain a lot of important lessons from. really getting into the how-to of game development. I will bring forward this experience into other projects as I continue making strides in game development. To all the giants whos shoulders I got to stand on, I don't think I could have finished this with out the inspiration.
hope you enjoy.

This is great! It looks like it’s not available through splore, unfortunately… I tried it on my phone, but would love to play this on a handheld
Thanks, currently I wouldn't call this done, its still missing some planned features, got an extra 1k+tokens and 2/3 extra artwork left to squeeze in. May take bit, but I'll add it to Splore once I put a fork in it.
